Hi everyone! Welcome to 50 Shades of Gray Hair. 50 Shades is my blog of life over the hill, where each day is full of delicious opportunities to earn another gray hair. Oh, those photos make me miss Vermont. Not the cold so much, but the snow. I used to live on Lake Champlain. Here in Oregon, a few inches is the best we get.

I love the Burlington area, but I lived on the other side…the Northeast Kingdom some and Northfield the majority of my growing up years. I think being a Vermonter is in the blood…I’ve never NOT felt like a Vermonter, no matter where I live. I always miss it (well, not the spring…mudseason sucked…literally) 😉

My dad was born and raised in Northfield and grandfather Peach taught at Norwich U. I worked in Craftsbury Common after college. Small world. 🙂

Wow..you’re kidding! My Grandfather worked at Norwich also and almost everyone I know went to school there. lol Hazard of being a townie I guess. What’s your Dad’s last name? It’s small enough town, we probably knew him…or at least the name. And boy, the world gets smaller every day!
(and Craftsbury is in my top 3 favorite VT towns)

My grandfather was Arthur Peach. He taught English from 1913 to 1950. My dad, Don Peach, lived in Northfield until he went to Middlebury (class of ’53). Wow, these dates make me feel old!

This is so cool. My mom was class of ’57 so she would have been a freshman I’d guess when you dad was a senior? Of course, that’s assuming you meant he graduated from Nfld in ’53 and not Middlebury. Just realized it could be taken either way. 🙂 I’ll have to ask her if she knew Don Peach. You wouldn’t happen to know where in town he lived do you?

He graduated Midd in 53, so a bit older than your mom. I called my dad to find out where the house was and he’s out of town until tomorrow evening. I’ll find out though. 🙂

I am so impressed by these. So so gorgeous. I love the cherry tree and ice flow!

Thanks Jennifer 🙂 That cherry tree was a continual source of inspiration during the seasons. And that ice is a phenomenon every winter and it’s never the same. It’s quite stunning.
