FLOWER OF THE DAY – OCTOBER 14, 2015
Hi gang! For Cee’s Flower of the Day today, I’m choosing one of my favorite and longest lasting blooms…the African Daisy.
While I adore taking pictures of them, it’s rare that I get any I like because I have this “thing” with taking photos of yellow! More often than not, they are washed out…almost like it’s a white balance thing. Is it a white balance thing?
As I continue working toward capturing vibrant yellows that retain some detail…there is something to be said about this problem when I shoot these daisies in a certain light.
They look almost as if the light were coming from inside and that is the only reason I kept this series. They almost look cartoonish but for the red pot in the background.
Anyway, I like them and hope you do too.
Happy yellah….R
Very nice.

I used to hate yellow because of the yellow medicine I was given as a child. I like your yellow and ‘liked’ photo on FB this morning but still behind with the whole blogging thing. Love you sis!

You’re not behind Jules. This isn’t a job and I would be spending my time the same way you are were the roles reversed. Love you too, always

Such a gorgeous yellow. You nailed the color. That is for sure. Yes it can be a white balance thing. If you have software that lets you correct it normal you need to take blue out and maybe add in a little pink.

I don’t have an editing software, but there’s an option to change the tint in photo gallery, so I’ll try that next time I run into this issue with yellows. Thanks Cee 🙂

Agree 100%! Yellow and my old freckled skin are not friends….but give me a host of yellow daisies to gaze upon…..like the sun….that’s what this color was meant for!
